Special at café Museum Haus Konstruktiv is the serie of paintings “Eye to Eye” by the Swiss artist Claudia Comte. They show elliptical canvases, on which black and white circles can be seen, which are reminiscent of comic characters’ eyes. The convergent eyes, inspired by Warner Bros. “Road Runner”, satirize the visual language of the Swiss Concretists. With a mixture of humor and homage, the artist subjects the modernist heritage to a jovial rejuvenation. In so doing, she combines concrete visual elements from art with the comic.
Our shop is open during museum opening hours. You will find a selected collection of editions, special, gifts and publications.
The museum’s top floor offers two attractions: the unique exposed metal structure from the 1940s, and our equally impressive reference library – with literature providing an overview of constructivist, concrete, and conceptual art, with exhibition catalogs pertaining to solo and group projects, with numerous monographs on artists, and with reference works on art history. Here, art enthusiasts and academics find both an inspiring setting and the necessary tranquility for focused reading.
Have a nice stay at Museum Haus Konstruktiv. Please note our general house rules.
