Gisela Andersch

Gisela Andersch (1913–1987). The oeuvre of Gisela Andersch begins with expressionist landscapes and portraits, and ends with geometric planar compositions in print, collage, and painting. Married from 1950 to writer Alfred Andersch, a founding member of Gruppe 47, she designed book jackets for Arno Schmidt and for the studio frankfurt series published by the Frankfurter Verlagsanstalt. At “documenta 6” (1977) she was represented in the drawings section.
