Haus Konstruktiv believes that one of its key tasks is to encourage the creativity of a young generation who address the content of the museum with a broadened understanding. In 2007, Haus Konstruktiv, together with the insurance company Zurich Group – one of the museum's key patron partners – established the "Zurich Art Prize", which reflects a link between the history of minimalist and conceptual approaches and the extension thereof into the present. Each year, seven renowned curators are invited to nominate one young artist each. The winner is then chosen from the list of nominated artists by our jury: Annette Kulenkampff (CEO of Hatje Cantz Verlag), Dr. Dieter Wemmer (Zurich Group), Samuel Keller (Director of Fondation Beyeler), David Weiss (artist), Gianfranco Verna (gallery owner) and Dorothea Strauss (Director of Haus Konstruktiv). After Carsten Nicolai (2007) and Tino Sehgal (2008), Ryan Gander is the 3rd winner of the "Zurich Art Prize". Worth 80,000 Swiss francs, the "Zurich Art Prize" is one of the most generously endowed art prizes in the world. The prize money is tied to a solo exhibition at Haus Konstruktiv.
