Internationally, Tino Sehgal (*1976 in London, now living in Berlin) is currently one of the most interesting and extraordinary prospects of a young generation. With his works, which for instance have recently been exhibited at the Tate Modern in London (2007) and the KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin (2008/2009), Sehgal has developed a distinctive intangible art form: Sehgal does not confront the public with a tangible object, but with unexpected interpersonal encounters.
In 2008, Tino Sehgal received the newly launched Zurich Art Prize and from 23 April to 31 May 2009, he will exhibit the 2004 work This objective of that object in the museum Haus Konstruktiv (The Foundation for Constructive and Concrete Art). The Zurich Art Prize came about in 2007 as the result of close cooperation between Haus Konstruktiv and the insurance company Zurich. This year, it shall be awarded for the third time.
